Exactly what I was looking for!, April 6, 2013

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:54 Mins

For the longest time I was in search for the perfect case to protect my baby – the 13″ MacBook Air.

I had my eyes set on the Speck Satin hard case but the price kept making me put off purchasing it and each time I went to the Apple store they never had any colors I liked.

So while surfing on Amazon I came across a case made by TopCase that looked just like the Speck Satin but it came in my favorite color – Robin Egg Blue…you know the beautiful Tiffany Box color? ;)

All the reviews seemed to say that this case was pretty awesome and the price was just right so I decided to give it a go and ordered it along with the matching silicone keyboard cover. It shipped rather fast and the case and keyboard were shipped together.

It gave my MacBook Air a new look and I was very happy with the results. The only other gripe that I failed to mention in the video was that the silicone keyboard is hard to type on- gets a little sticky which causes typos but maybe it just takes some getting used to.

    PROS:
    – Easy to install
    – Comes in a wide variety of colors
    – Really affordable, won’t break the bank

    CONS:
    – Feet look a little cheap
    – Silicone Keyboard cover does not match top row keys
    – Silicone Keyboard can be difficult to type on
    – Case can be difficult to take off but we found a solution (see video link)

Rubberized texture of case, doesn’t show fingerprints, and has 4 rubber feet and slots on bottom for heat release. (accurately pictured) HOT BLUE color is also NICE! Arrives in mail with no instructions and minimal packaging, but undamaged. Both top and bottom have tabs that snap onto the laptop. Press top and bottom covers on until you hear a click and see that all the tabs have latched onto the laptop. Case covers all of the laptop except for the back hinge and port access. There are no noises or movement of the pieces once installed. Easy to determine front/back of case bottom, but harder with the case top. You’ll know you have top on correctly when the cutouts and tabs on the top and bottom of the case cover meet on the sides and front when the laptop is closed. Case does not seem to impede range of movement of the screen and the apple logo shines through the cover.

Excellent cover for Macbook Air 13″, May 4, 2012

Perhaps the best way to rate this cover is to compare it to the one it just replaced. This cover replaces a clear $59 Power Support USA (PS) cover that began to crack on the corner after 6 months. It was never dropped. The PS cover was slim, well-fitting, good looking, with a self-healing coating that hides scratches. Unfortunately that coating also was slippery, so there was always the potential for it to slip out of my hands when carrying my 2011 13″ Macbook Air around the house. Additionally, the PS cover was molded with rounded bumps on the bottom surface, which fit around the built-in feet on the bottom of the Macbook. Tiny self-stick rubber feet are provided for the purchaser to attach over the bumps. The feet simply do not stay attached to the bottom of the slippery coated case, and within 1 week, all were gone. With no rubber feet, the cover slides all over the place on hard surfaces. New, improved ones were provided by PS, but they were still gone within 1 week, despite careful surface cleaning with alcohol. The bumps on the bottom of the cover should be molded with a flat recess to better secure rubber, feet, and with the coating not applied to that area. The PS cover required me to trim the plastic (with a Dremel) on the left rear side of the bottom cover to permit the MagSafe power cord to be attached with the cord rear-facing.

Overall, I’d rate that Power Support USA cover at a 3.

The TopCase was a gamble. There were no reviews. It was also less than 1/3 the price of the PS cover at $17.99, so it seemed like a small gamble. I’ve had it for 1 day. In short, it fits tightly, has a fine textured rubbery feeling surface that is similar to the rubberized hard plastic smartphone cases. That makes it more secure when I carry it. The rubber feet are inset into molded recesses in the bottom cover, so it looks like they stand a good chance of staying put. The transparent yellow color looks fantastic, especially with the matte finish. The only downside so far is that the white rubber feet appear to be a stiff, foam material rather than a solid rubber such as those on the bottom of the MacBook itself. The durability of them is yet to be proven. The bottom cover can only be installed one way, but the top cover does not appear directional. I installed mine with the 2 clips edge toward the hinge, and the 3 clips toward the camera since lifting it open probably causes more stress on that edge.

So far, I give this one a 4 star, having deducted perhaps 1/2 a star for what appear to be not-too-durable feet. However, when I factor in the price, cool looks, and that I can easily buy new rubber feet if these deteriorate, I’ve gotta bump it to a 5 for overall value.

This review is from: Belkin Standard Mouse Pad -Blue (Personal Computers)

I bought this for an optical mouse, reluctantly. I thought that maybe it would make the accuracy even worse than on my desk since it’s just one plain color (my desk is a bit bright colored, therefore reflective, and causing the cursor to get ‘stuck’ while I’m moving the mouse)

It works very, very well though. It is very smooth and accurate. Really can’t complain about functionality at all.

It’s bigger than I thought. It’s really lightweight though; it doesn’t slip on my desk during regular use (which is fairly slippery) but compared to higher priced mouse pads, it’s not as heavy, but this is expected for $2.

I gave this 5 stars only because it serves its purpose well. It’s just a basic mouse pad, but the price is excellent!!!

This is the lightest mousepad I have ever felt. Doesn’t even sit flat on the table.
