This case is awesome! I was looking for a case that was compatible with an Apple smart cover when I stumbled upon this one, and let me tell you: this is way better. I don’t have to worry about the cover coming off in my bag and the back of my iPad is safe from scratches. Well worth the price (especially since that price is half that of an Apple smart cover by itself!)

Update: Three months later, the case is still on my iPad, and I still really like it. However, here are two issues that are kind of bugging me:
    1) The magnets were never super strong (obviously, you can’t put very strong magnets on an electronic device, duh!) but they seemed to have weakened over time. The case used to hold up just fine, but now I find that the cover – when folded into a triangle to prop the iPad up – falls flat a lot or comes unfolded if I try to move it around. This never used to happen. It still holds up OKAY, it’s just frustrating to be reading or watching a movie and all of a sudden your iPad falls down/over.
    2) The front part of the case has started coming apart. It was easily fixed, and I know exactly what happened, but I just think that if someone sees this then they can be aware before buying it. Here’s what happened: The front cover fits so snugly over the end, that when opening it, my fingers would lift up the edge, separating the front and back layers of fabric. So, after three months of this light pulling (and opening/closing the iPad multiple times an hour, every single day) the fabric has come apart at the edge. I squeezed a bit of glue between the layers and pressed them back together, so it’s not a problem anymore. Easy fix, and the case still works great otherwise.

    Beware iPad 3 Users!!, March 20, 2012

This is a great case for the iPad 2, as others have described. It also does fit the new iPad 3, with one major caveat. The auto on/sleep function does not work. Apple has changed the magnetic sensor in the device so this case does not automatically turn off the device when you close the case. If you have an iPad 2, this is a good choice. If you have the new iPad, continue looking.

Disappointed Khomo iPad Air Dual Case, November 11, 2013
    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
Let me start by saying that I am a previous owner of a black Khomo iPad mini Dual case and that I just purchased the Gray/Black Khomo iPad Air Dual case. I am very disappointed with the new Khomo iPad Air Dual case. It has 2 major flaws that do not exist on previous Khomo Dual cases.

First, there is no microfiber lining on the inside of the front flap. The inside of the front flap is made from the same material as the outside of the front flap. I don’t know about you but I would very much prefer microfiber or some other very soft material rubbing up against the glass of my 500$ iPad. I actually emailed the company about this and received a response. “It looks like customers liked more how it looked when the material and color is the same inside and outside.” It would appear that their (Khomo’s) customers prefer form over function. I am not one of these customers. If a product does not function properly it doesn’t matter what is looks like, its still broken.

Second, is a combination of 3 things that makes the “triangle stand” part of the case non functional. 1, there is no magnet in the back side of the front flap for the magnets in the front part of the front flap to attract to so the triangle will stay in the shape of a triangle. 2, the material on the front flap is very stiff where it creases to make the triangle, thus making it all that much more difficult to make and hold a triangle shape for it to stand up on. 3, the combination of no textured microfiber and a very smooth rubberized plastic rear shell causes the triangle stand to simply fail to hold its shape. If you are very careful you can get the case to stand up properly however if you tap the iPad to actually use it, or sneeze, or your 4 year old bumps the table or whatever, your iPad is going to smack flat down on to the table. Simply put the triangle stand doesn’t work in any position.

My Khomo Dual case for the iPad mini does not have either of these serious flaws and I still use it and would rate it at 5 stars because it meets all of my needs for an iPad case. The case for the iPad Air I have to rate at 2 stars because while it has some serious flaws there are also some good aspects about it. The fit and finish of the case is very good and all of the cutouts for the buttons and holes on the iPad are in the correct positions. The back cover fits very snug around the iPad and there is no chance of the iPad slipping out of the case by mistake. The case is also inexpensive when compared to Apple branded cases.

A note on the Khomo company. During my short correspondence with the company they were responsive to my requests and I have nothing bad to say about them.

Bottom Line: An inexpensive case with 2 major deal breaking flaws.
