It’s a cheap enough mouse, and while I haven’t had time to thoroughly test it, I haven’t noticed any real issues with it yet. Just put in a couple of AAA batteries, plug in the tiny USB receiver (conveniently located under the battery door, right next to the battery compartment; it may be a bit of a pain to remove)and flip the switch on the bottom to turn it on. No drivers needed.

The shell of the mouse is somewhat glossier than the pictures show; it feels somewhat cheap and plasticky but it doesn’t really feel too fragile. Only time will tell, I guess, but it’s hardly priced high enough for durability to be the manufacturers’concern. The mouse buttons are responsive, and while the scroll wheel feels a bit small it works fine as well. Below that there’s a small DPI button. There’s two settings, and as I don’t know the exact values I’ll just call them ‘standard’ and ‘fast’. The LED on the bottom, unlike most optical mice I’ve seen, is blue, which feels a lot less harsh on the eyes than the standard red. The only real complaint I have about the hardware itself is that it feels a little long compared to other mice, but I think the pictures represent that fairly accurately anyways. I haven’t had it long enough to estimate battery life, so I suppose I’ll update this review when that time comes.

Windows 7 didn’t have any issue with the mouse when I plugged it in; it worked right away. It scrolls fine, moves accurately, and works well even on the textured surface of my laptop. Assuming Linux doesn’t have a problem detecting it, and I see no reason why it should, I can’t find a real fault with this thing. If you don’t mind the length or the cheap plastic feel, it’s a pretty good mouse, and it has it’s own unique style to it.

No installation required. Just plug the tiny little receiver in the usb port and it quickly installs itself. Would recommend this mouse.
